臭氧老化試驗箱適用于測試橡膠制品非金屬材料、有機材料（如：涂料、油漆、橡膠、塑膠、及其制品）的耐臭氧老化性能和老化龜裂試驗。客戶該如何選購經濟實惠的臭氧老化試驗箱呢？現如今臭氧老化試驗箱廠家現在國內比較多，良莠不齊，多數廠家都能生產出臭氧老化試驗箱，可是儀器性能卻差別很大。
臭氧雖然在大氣中含量不多，可是卻是橡膠老化的主要因素，通過臭氧測試，能了解橡膠加速老化的情況。汽車橡膠減震器，橡膠密封條，密封件，油封，膠管，橡膠支承墊等很多都要檢測橡膠的耐臭氧能力。雖說都是檢測橡膠耐臭氧特性，可是每個廠家的用途卻不*一樣。
首先從試樣夾具方面來說：有的需要做靜態測試，將試樣拉伸到一定比率，放置于臭氧老化試驗箱中，看是否有龜裂等情況；有的需要做動態測試，試樣夾在臭氧老化試驗箱的動態夾具上，看在力學疲勞和臭氧加速老化雙重作用下的老化情況；還有的僅僅將試樣放置于臭氧箱中老化即可。
從臭氧濃度方面來說：一般橡膠測試濃度為50pphm或100pphm，用于電線電纜或軍工產品上的橡膠件要求測試濃度會更高。在選購臭氧老化試驗機時，就要選擇好試驗箱的濃度可調范圍，選擇合適的范圍也能提高測試精度。
從箱體容積方面來說：越小越好。只要能夠容納測試的產品即可，太大的箱體只會無謂地增加成本購買。因為臭氧老化試驗箱的箱體材料費用和臭氧濃度控制度難度都會相應增加。
從環境溫度方面來說：按需選擇。有的產品需要在攝氏度零下溫度測試臭氧抗性，有的在室溫（23攝氏度）中測試，有的在高溫環境下測試，只要了解自己的產品常用的測試溫度即可。需要注意的是室溫測試狀態比較常用，如果擺放臭氧老化試驗箱的實驗室沒有空調系統，建議在選購臭氧箱時，選擇制冷系統，以免在夏天測試時，室溫過高，測試不準確。
