Application
DMSO 是一種用于化學反應（如聚合酶鏈式反應 (PCR)）的極性非質子溶劑，也可作為冷凍保護玻璃化劑用于保存細胞、組織和器官。DMSO 可在細胞冷凍培養基中用于保護細胞免受冰晶導致的機械損傷。它可用于原代、繼代培養和重組的異倍體和雜交瘤細胞系、胚胎干細胞 (ESC) 以及造血干細胞的凍存。DMSO 常與 BSA 或胎牛血清 (FBS) 一同使用。
Caution
容易過度冷卻，并在室溫下緩慢融化固化的產品放在室溫下可以再次液化，對其本身無影響。
