This kit is based on the property of DNA to adsorb to a silica surface in the presence of high concentrations of chaotropic salts. Cells or tissue are lysed with a special lysing solution, containing the chaotropic salt Total Lysis buffer AC, together with Proteinase K. In the next step the lysate containing the DNA is loaded onto spin columns. DNA is adsorbed on the surface of silica filter, while contaminants are passing through without adsorption. After washing, pure DNA is eluted in low salt buffer or water.
